US Solana ETFs Coming Soon, Exec Says
The upcoming launch of Solana futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), a US derivatives exchange, indicates that the first US SOL exchange-traded fund (ETF) listings may be on the horizon, according to Chris Chung, founder of the Solana-based swap platform Titan.
CME is set to introduce SOL futures contracts on March 17, following the launch of Coinbase’s in February. These will be among the initial regulated Solana futures available in the US market.
Chung noted that this development “paves the way for the eventual approval of SOL ETFs.”
He anticipates that the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) could approve asset managers VanEck and Canary Capital’s proposed spot Solana ETFs by May.
