Cboe to Launch Ethereum ETF Options Trading
Cboe has formally requested that the SEC swiftly approve their filing to list and trade options on Ethereum ETFs.
This application pertains to the Bitwise Ethereum ETF, the Grayscale Ethereum Trust, the Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust, and any other trust that holds ETH.
The exchange has proposed an amendment to Rule 19.3 to enable trading of these options, which would be similar to options on other fund shares already offered on the platform.
According to Cboe, providing options on Ethereum funds would create more opportunities for investors, providing them with a lower-cost way to invest in the price of Ethereum and a means to hedge their investments in Ethereum products and positions.
This proposal is considered a competitive one, due to NYSE American’s similar but delayed submission. Cboe is hopeful for a swift approval from the SEC.
