Cyprus’ CySEC Extends FTX Suspension for 6 Months
The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) has prolonged the suspension of FTX.com’s CIF license until May 30, 2025.
This license had allowed the insolvent platform to operate across Europe. Under the current regulatory circular, FTX EU is not permitted to provide services to any individuals or engage in any new business relationships while its authorization is suspended.
The firm is also prohibited from executing orders or providing investment services within or outside of Cyprus.
It is not permitted to market itself as an investment services provider or advertise related services.
Additionally, FTX EU must close all open client positions on their maturity date or at the client’s request, and return any funds and profits.
