Trump Wants Bitcoin to Be Mined in the US
According to a Bloomberg report, former US President Donald Trump showed his support for bitcoin mining during a meeting with several bitcoin miners at his Mar-a-Lago resort on Tuesday night.
Trump, who has recently taken a more pro-crypto stance leading up to the November election, stated that he would promote bitcoin mining in the White House, recognizing its contributions to energy grid stability.
Attendees at the meeting included representatives from CleanSpark Inc. and Riot Platforms, who shared pictures with the former president.
CleanSpark co-founder S. Matthew Schultz even posted on X saying he spoke with someone who is a big fan of bitcoin and praised their work in Georgia, Mississippi, and Wyoming.
Trump’s show of support for crypto has garnered him support from industry leaders, as seen in his $12 million fundraising event attended by Gemini founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss.
