Taiko Launches its Final Testnet
Taiko, a scaling solution built on Ethereum’s Layer 2, has released its Katla (Alpha-6) testnet, paving the way for the launch of the mainnet.
The team behind Taiko noted that the main focus of the Katla testnet is the implementation of Based Contestable Rollup (BCR), a customizable design for multi-evidence rollups.
This concept was presented at the TOKEN2049 conference in September 2023 and involves a multi-evidence configuration with four levels.
In addition to this, the Katla code now supports EIP-4844 (proto-dunksharding), although this feature is currently disabled. The team plans to activate it after the upcoming hard fork on Ethereum’s testnet Holesky.
The team has also enhanced the network’s bridge by fixing bugs and adding support for NFTs. Users can also access an updated blockchain browser on the testnet, providing more detailed statistics.
