Animoca Brands, a Hong Kong-based company in the blockchain gaming industry, has acquired the Web3 streaming platform Azarus, according to a report from VentureBeat.

The terms of the acquisition and other details have not been disclosed.

According to Animoca Brands co-founder Yat Siu, this decision demonstrates their belief in the transformative potential of Web3 technology.

He hopes that by working together, they can revolutionize the streaming landscape and make it more interactive, rewarding, and in line with the open metaverse.

The acquisition will enable Animoca Brands to integrate Azarus’ solutions into their portfolio and utilize Web3 technologies to create a gaming economy where creators, gamers, and streamers can have control over their digital property rights.

Launched in 2018, the Azarus platform allows users to stream gameplay and engage with viewers through token rewards.

According to public data, Animoca Brands was previously an investor in the project.
