According to the Central Bank of Argentina, the introduction of a digital currency (CBDC) into the domestic market has the potential to stabilize the nation’s economy.

The head of the Central Bank, Juan Agustin D’Attellis Noguera, believes that the digital peso could revolutionize the payment infrastructure and improve fiscal policy, as it allows for transparent tracking of funds.

By implementing CBDC, the government can also increase tax collection.

D’Attellis Noguera has expressed support for the idea of a digital peso to be launched by 2024 and has gained the backing of Argentine politician Sergio Massa, who is running in the presidential campaign. Massa believes that CBDC will expand access to financial services and modernize the nation’s payment infrastructure.
