More Than 50% of Turkish Residents Own Crypto: Survey
By 2022, the percentage of the Turkish population owning cryptocurrencies had risen to 40%.
This increase is largely attributed to the depreciation of the Turkish lira and higher levels of inflation, which spurred citizens to look for ways to preserve their capital.
The results of a survey conducted by the KuCoin exchange in 2023 revealed that the number of crypto investors in Turkey was still on the rise. 52% of participants aged 18 to 60 said that they owned cryptocurrency.
This figure is 11% higher than it was 18 months ago. 47% of these crypto owners were female, although male investors still accounted for the majority of the market.
The most enthusiastic cryptocurrency investors belonged to the 31-44 age group.
