Mark Gerstein,, who left Latham & Watkins in December, has joined Paul Taubman’s investment bank, PJT Partners Inc, as a senior adviser.

The veteran dealmaker, who had served 27 years at Latham & Watkins and acted as its global co-chair of mergers and acquisitions, said he started his new role earlier this month.

He was attracted to PJT because of its client-focused culture and team collaboration, similar to his experience at Latham.

Gerstein is expected to contribute to PJT’s business growth by utilizing his longstanding relationships with major corporations. He has provided counsel on several high-profile deals, including Oracle Corp’s $28 billion acquisition of Cerner Corp in 2021, and Koch Industries’ $22 billion combination with Georgia-Pacific Corp in 2005.
