Number of Visitors to Decentraland Fashion Week Drops to Just 26,000

The number of visitors to Decentraland Fashion Week dropped to a mere 26,000 in 2023, representing a 76% decrease from the previous year’s 108,000 visitors, according to The Block.

Despite the drop in attendance, the peak online during the four-day event was over 1,000 people. This year’s theme of “The Legacy of the Future” was carried by fashion brands like Adidas, DressX, The Fabricant, DKNY, Perry Ellis, Tommy Hilfiger, Dolce & Gabbana, and Dundas. Giovana Graziosi Casimiro, the head of the event, expressed confidence that the experience of the event had been improved upon from last year.

This second ever Metaverse Fashion Week was organized in collaboration with the NFT marketplace UNXD, as well as the first in 2022.

In other news, men’s magazine Playboy announced plans to launch its own metaverse MetaMansion before the end of 2023, while The Walt Disney Company has shut down its virtual worlds division, according to sources who spoke to the Wall Street Journal in March.
