ConsenSys Opens Access to zkEVM Testnet
On March 28, the ConsenSys team announced that the zkEVM testnet for Ethereum scaling had gone public and been given a new name – Linea.
This second layer network utilizes zero-knowledge proof (ZK-Rollups) technology and is completely compatible with EVM, allowing developers to use existing tools and infrastructure with minimal changes to the original code and smart contracts.
Several projects, such as MetaMask crypto wallet and Truffle developer service, have already been integrated into the testnet and it has already processed 1.5 million transactions.
Linea provides faster transaction speeds, lower gas costs, and greater security for users, and the project team has put together tutorials, manuals, and technical documentation to help new developers get started.
