US Attorney’s Office is Investigating Sam Bankman-Fried

According to NYT, the New York prosecutor’s office is looking into possible manipulation of the TerraUSD and LUNA markets by the founder of the cryptocurrency exchange FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried.

The investigation is reportedly in its early stages. It’s not yet clear whether the agency has found any wrongdoing on FTX’s former CEO.

Prosecutors speculate he deliberately “steered” quotes from two related assets in favor of companies he controlled, including Alameda Research.

At the time of the Terra ecosystem collapse, “the bulk of” orders to sell the UST came from a trading company associated with the FTX founder.
