Chainalysis: DeFi Protocols Have Lost $718M Since October 1
October was a record month for the volume of cryptocurrencies stolen by hackers this year. According to Chainalysis, DeFi protocols have lost $718 million since October 1 as a result of 11 attacks.
In total, since the beginning of the year, the indicator has exceeded $3 billion (125 attacks), coming close to the values of 2021.
The company analysts have noted that in 2019, the interest of attackers was focused on centralized platforms. Since then, it has shifted towards DeFi protocols.
Cross-chain bridges suffered significant losses. In October, three similar projects ($600 million) fell victim to hacks. This is 82% of the cumulative figure for October and 64% of the total for the entire year.
