Ethereum Developers Switch Ropsten Testnet to Proof-of-Stake
The Ethereum development team has migrated the Ropsten testnet to the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus algorithm.
Tim Beiko, the lead developer of Ethereum, has announced the process of migrating Ropsten to the PoS algorithm has been completed. According to him, the first transactions are already included in the updated testnet.
Beiko has noted that after the “merger,” the team found problems with the proposal of new blocks by validators. The developers are investigating each incident and will report the results on Friday.
Some users are also reporting nodes getting out of sync on the Nethermind client.
As expected, the “merger” will occur in several stages. On May 30, the developers deployed the blockchain consensus layer – Beacon Chain.
