Spotify Starts Testing NFT Support

Streaming music service Spotify is exploring the use of NFTs on the platform, Music Ally has reported.

Based on the profiles of indie band The Wombats and DJ Steve Aoki, Spotify is testing the placement of NFTs that can be purchased on external marketplaces. The service does not plan to sell tokens directly yet.

Testing is being conducted for a limited number of users of the Spotify Android app in the United States.

If successful, the company does not exclude the full implementation of the function for all artists.

Twitter users are also reporting Spotify’s survey on NFTs, Web 3.0 and cryptocurrencies.
