Vitalik Buterin Officially Becomes a Montenegro Citizen

The authorities of Montenegro have given Vitalik Buterin, the creator of Ethereum, citizenship of the country, as the local publication RTCG has reported citing the country’s Ministry of Finance and Social Security.

Buterin has received citizenship at the initiative of the Prime Minister of Montenegro Zdravko Krivokapic and Minister of Finance Miloiko Spaic. The officials have also published a photo of Buterin posing with a new passport and Spaic.

The Ministry of Finance of the country has expressed the hope that the creator of Ethereum, as the most famous person in the industry, will contribute to the promotion of Montenegro and to the development of the industry in the country.

The officials have also stressed they regularly invite various experts in the field of digital assets:

“Cooperation with them is of particular importance for the development of the Montenegrin economy, attracting investment and creating high-paying jobs.”
