Reigning UFC Mixed Martial Arts Champion Francis Ngannou will receive half of the fee for the fight at the tournament on January 23, 2022 in Bitcoin.

The payout will be made through Jack Dorsey’s Block Cash App.

The athlete has said he wants to make Bitcoin “more accessible” to fans and will give away $300,000 in crypto among them. To take part in the draw, users must follow the Cash App on Twitter and post the #PaidInBitcoin hashtag. Ngannou said in a promotional video:

“After studying Bitcoin in depth, I really believe that this is the future of money.”

His fight with Cyril Gan will be the main event of the UFC 270 event. Under certain circumstances, the fight could be Ngannou’s last in the promotion. The athlete has earlier expressed dissatisfaction with the fees he received and has said he was no longer ready to “fight for $500,000–$600,000.”
