MicroStrategy Buys an Additional 1,914 BTC for Over $94M
Business analytics software provider MicroStrategy has acquired an additional 1,914 BTC for about $94.2 million. The average purchase price was around $49,229, said the company CEO Michael Saylor.
According to the report, the purchases were carried out from December 9 to December 29.
At press time, MicroStrategy is holding 124,391 BTC worth over $5.9 billion at current exchange rates. The firm spent a total of about $3.75 billion on their purchase (the average price is $30,159).
MicroStrategy was the first publicly traded company to invest part of its equity capital in digital gold. In August 2020, the supplier acquired 21,454 BTC (about $250 million at the exchange rate at the time of the transaction).
MicroStrategy is continuing to build up its crypto reserves in line with the strategy approved by the board of directors.
