The Crypto Community Wants Tesla to Add Monero Payments

The cryptocurrency community is holding a campaign to convince Tesla, a US maker of electric cars, to add privacy-centered cryptocurrency Monero as a means of payment for the company’s vehicles.

The campaign, which has been dubbed Tesla4XMR, has already raised enough Monero tokens to buy 3 Tesla Model 3 cars.

According to its organizers, they will donate these 3 cars to non-profit organizations if the company adds Monero as a means of payment for its vehicles.

The organizers of the campaign have highlighted that neither the Tesla CEO Elon Musk nor the company itself has anything to do with this campaign.

Monero is currently trading at $264.95 and its market cap amounts to $4.5 billion.
