USDT0 Launches on OP Superchain

Crosschain US-dollar stablecoin USDT0 has been launched on Optimism’s Superchain, enhancing access to this popular stable asset within Ethereum’s layer-2 ecosystem.

On March 27, Optimism announced that the dollar-pegged USDT0 is now available on the OP mainnet. The stablecoin’s first deployment occurred on Ink, Kraken’s DeFi-focused layer-2 network.

USDT0 is a bridged version of Tether’s USDt, developed to increase its adoption across multiple blockchains. It was independently launched within the Tether ecosystem in January, supported by Tether and its CEO, Paolo Ardoino.

Superchain is a network of layer-2 chains designed to scale Ethereum using Optimism’s OP Stack. This network currently represents 52% of Ethereum layer-2 transactions, according to data from Superchain.
