Trump Signs Executive Order Establishing a Crypto Task Force
On Thursday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order aimed at promoting the growth and development of cryptocurrencies in the United States.
Together with venture capitalist David Sacks, who was appointed as the president’s crypto and artificial intelligence czar, Trump signed the order in the Oval Office.
The order recognizes the important role that the digital asset industry plays in driving innovation and contributing to the economic development of the country, as well as maintaining its global leadership. This marks a shift in Trump’s stance on cryptocurrencies, as he was previously critical of them during his first term in office.
However, on the campaign trail, he changed his tune and received significant contributions from the industry, with many companies and executives donating millions of dollars to support his re-election.
