OKX has announced that it has received pre-authorization under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation, OKX Europe’s general manager Erald Ghoos said.

This means that the exchange has passed the review process conducted by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) and is now eligible for a full MiCA license. Ghoos stated that this marks the completion of the MiCA application process for OKX.

The exchange plans to obtain a full MiCA license through its branch in Malta and offer a wide range of services and token pairs.

Once it receives full approval, the exchange plans to provide localized crypto services to over 400 million users in Europe and support more than 240 tokens. In addition to spot trading, OKX also plans to offer over-the-counter and bot trading, with at least 260 trading pairs against the euro.
