USDT Issuer Tether Makes First Venture Capital Investment

Tether, the company behind the leading stablecoin USDT, has entered the world of venture capital with its recent investment of $2 million in Arcanum Capital’s Arcanum Emerging Technologies Fund II.

This fund focuses on supporting decentralized Web3 projects that aim to advance blockchain-based technologies related to remittances, privacy, and financial inclusion.

According to a recent press release, the fund’s goal is to improve cross-border payments, privacy, and banking services for individuals without access to traditional banking systems.

Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, highlighted the importance of promoting systems that are resistant to censorship and encourage open communication, especially in a time of growing global tensions and economic uncertainty.

This investment is part of Tether’s larger plan to diversify its business endeavors.
