Remote, a global payroll provider, has announced that it will now enable US-based companies using its services to pay contractors in 69 countries using USD Coin. This new payment option expands Remote’s existing services in partnership with payment provider Stripe.

According to the company’s announcement, stablecoin payments enhance Remote’s existing automation tools for onboarding, invoicing, and paying contractors, reflecting the rapid growth of contractor management capabilities and the shift in global hiring practices following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Contractors can receive Circle’s USDC on a Base wallet address, which refers to the Coinbase layer-2 network launched in August 2023.

Remote’s employer clients will pay for this service in US dollars. Remote co-founder and CEO Job van der Voort stated that this feature was highly requested by customers, allowing them to pay contractors according to their preferences while maintaining Remote’s established compliance and simplicity.
