Worldcoin Rebrands to World

Worldcoin is undergoing a rebranding process and will now be known as World Network, or simply World.

Alongside this rebranding, the project has also announced that its World Chain, a Layer 2 blockchain network secured by Ethereum, has officially launched on the mainnet.

Several major platforms, including Optimism, Alchemy, Uniswap, Safe, Dune, and Etherscan, have pledged their support for the launch of World Chain.

The name change is necessary as the project continues to grow and expand, and the original name no longer reflects its mission to accelerate progress for all humanity.

World Network’s three core pillars of World Chain, World ID, and Worldcoin will work together to create a network of verified human users, enabling a positive future where people remain at the forefront of artificial intelligence advancements.

Launched in July 2023, Worldcoin offers a digital identity solution called World ID, which verifies users’ humanity and identity both online and onchain.
