Kamala Harris: US Should Be Dominant in Blockchain

In her first public statement, Kamala Harris expressed her support for protecting cryptocurrencies and maintaining the United States’ dominance in emerging technology industries such as blockchain and artificial intelligence.

During a speech at The Economic Club of Pittsburgh on September 25, Harris stated that her administration would invest in biomanufacturing and aerospace, and continue to lead in areas such as AI, quantum computing, and blockchain.

She also emphasized the importance of expanding clean energy innovation and manufacturing in the country, and promoting the use of advancements such as advanced batteries and geothermal energy.

While her opponent Donald Trump has shown support for cryptocurrencies, Harris had not previously spoken about her views on crypto until a fundraising event on September 22, where she expressed her support for new technologies and the need for consumer protections, including for digital assets.
