Polymarket May Launch a Token
According to anonymous sources cited by The Information, Polymarket is considering launching a token worth more than $50 million to support their crypto betting platform.
This would involve offering token warrants to investors in a potential launch at a later date.
The purpose of these tokens could be to allow users to verify the outcome of real-world events, although no official decision has been made by Polymarket and a launch is not guaranteed.
The platform previously raised $45 million in a Series B funding round led by Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund, with participation from investors such as Vitalik Buterin and Kevin Hartz.
Currently, Polymarket has attracted close to $1 billion in bets for the US presidential election, with Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris having the highest chances of winning according to the platform.
