Thailand’s Police Raids an Illegal Bitcoin Mine
On Sunday, Thailand’s police and electricity authorities revealed that they had conducted a raid on an illegal bitcoin mine located in a local town.
The action was prompted by numerous reports of power outages in the area over the course of several weeks.
According to AFP, the authorities, accompanied by local police, conducted the raid on a house in Ratchaburi, a province in central Thailand located to the west of Bangkok.
The power outages began in mid-July, which corresponded to the full operation of the mine, as explained by Jamnong Chanwong, the chief district security officer.
Officials stated that the mining operator was paying significantly lower fees compared to the amount of power being consumed. However, no arrests were made at the mine.
