The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on July 26 approved the listing of Grayscale’s newest exchange-traded fund (ETF) called Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust (BTC) on the New York Stock Exchange’s (NYSE) electronic trading platform, Arca.

This is a significant development for Grayscale, as they had previously announced plans to create a new trust separate from their flagship Bitcoin fund, called Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC).

According to a spokesperson’s email to Cointelegraph, the approval of NYSE Arca’s application to list and trade shares of Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust is something that Grayscale is excited about. However, the effectiveness of BTC’s registration statement is still pending.

Once this registration is effective, BTC will be able to function as a spot Bitcoin exchange-traded product (ETP) alongside GBTC and other similar products.
