Australian computer scientist Craig Wright, who had long claimed to be the creator of Bitcoin, has been ordered by a judge to publicly state that he is not Satoshi Nakamoto.

According to a document filed on Tuesday, UK Judge James Mellor instructed Wright to post his disclaimer on his website, Slack, and on X.

Wright had been sued by the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) in April 2021 for making copyright claims over the Bitcoin whitepaper and database.

The judge deemed a notice on his website alone to be insufficient, and ordered an amended version of the notice to be published on the homepage of his website for six months, as well as on his Twitter and Slack channels for three months. These changes have now been made on Wright’s website.
