Consensys Purchases Wallet Guard

Consensys has recently announced its acquisition of Wallet Guard, a security tool designed to safeguard digital assets and data from potential theft, scams, and fraud.

The main goal of the acquisition is to integrate Wallet Guard’s sophisticated security features into MetaMask, a popular cryptocurrency wallet and gateway for Web3 applications.

By utilizing Wallet Guard’s expertise in transaction validation and client-side heuristics, MetaMask users can expect enhanced security capabilities, including detection of scams and draining attacks.

The integration process will involve the Wallet Guard team joining Consensys within the MetaMask Product Safety Team to ensure a seamless transition.

In a Q&A session, Patrick Berarducci, Consensys’ MetaMask and Infura Business Group lead, stated that the integration will provide users with extensive protection against emerging threats within the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
