According to a post by Fox Business reporter Eleanor Terrett, Consensys Founder Joseph Lubin has stated that the company will continue with its lawsuit against the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

This statement was made following Consensys’ announcement that the SEC had closed its investigation into Ethereum 2.0. Lubin believes that while the closure of the SEC investigation is a step in the right direction, it is not enough.

He stated that the company will continue with the lawsuit in order to achieve more legal clarity in the cryptocurrency industry.

In response to the SEC’s decision, Lubin said:

“We are hopeful that the negative attitude towards crypto from some US regulators is beginning to change and that the national strategy for investor protection will evolve from current aggressive tactics to a more cooperative approach.”

Consensys had previously described the closure of the investigation as a significant victory for the industry. They also stated that this decision shows that the SEC will no longer pursue charges against Ether sales claiming them to be securities transactions.
