During a hearing at the United States Senate Committee on Appropriations on Thursday, US Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Gary Gensler provided an update on the expected timeline for the listing of spot Ether exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

When questioned by US Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN), Gensler estimated that the approvals could be made sometime during the summer.

He also mentioned that individual issuers are currently going through the registration process smoothly. It is expected that spot Ether ETFs will be approved for listing by the SEC in the upcoming months, potentially before November.

These ETFs would allow investors to gain exposure to Ethereum, the second largest cryptocurrency, without actually owning the asset.
