SEC Seeks Public Comments on BlackRock’s Amended Spot Ethereum ETF Proposal
The US Securities and Exchange Commission is seeking public feedback on changes made to BlackRock’s proposed Ethereum exchange-traded fund, which would be traded on the spot market.
This initiative is part of BlackRock’s efforts, alongside other companies, to secure approval for an Ethereum ETF.
However, the chances of it being approved in the next month have decreased. The application for the fund, called the iShares Ethereum Trust, was filed in November 2023 and aims to mirror the performance of Ether’s price.
In January, the SEC postponed its decision on the fund, and on April 19, Nasdaq submitted a modified proposal.
The SEC has released a notice inviting comments on the modified rule change, and interested individuals have 21 days to submit their feedback, which will be published on the SEC’s website.
