Shiba Inu Team Rolls Out NFT Authenticators for Physical Goods
Shiba Inu developers have recently released Shibacals NFT-based digital authentication solution for physical items as part of the deployment of their Shibarium ecosystem.
Tags with NFC chips are used to facilitate communication and blockchain transactions in the initiative which is primarily intended for verifying product’s authenticity and providing them with an “aesthetic appeal.”
The first customer is Champion sportswear brand, and tags were produced by Hewlett Packard. The team also announced the beta launch of the second-tier Ethereum-based Shibarium protocol in January.
NFT authenticators could potentially be used outside the protocol too. After the announcement, Shiba Inu (SHIB) token saw its price surge more than 10% in a day, while Bitcoin gained around 4% after passing $30,000 mark.
