$500 Million at Risk Due to Tron Vulnerability
The cybersecurity research team 0d at dWallet Labs identified a critical vulnerability on the Tron blockchain network that threatened $500 million, and the issue was quickly and effectively resolved.
Omer Sadika, cofounder of Odsy Network, stated that the root of the issue was a flawed assumption within the verification process, which asked whether a specific signature was tallied before it met the threshold, rather than the address that was signed.
The vulnerability was hastily reported to the Tron’s bug bounty program on HackerOne on February 19 and was patched within days, per a Tron spokesperson.
While the bounty reward has yet to be publicly disclosed, the swiftness of the response and the required resolution proves that the Tron team is fully committed to protecting the system and its users.
