Bain Capital Plans to Attract $4B for New Fund
Bain Capital is attempting to raise $4 billion for a global “special situations fund” as it seeks out investments in a wide range of asset classes, according to two people with knowledge of the matter.
The U.S. firm has already raised approximately $2 billion since the start of the year and is aiming to close the fund by the end of 2020.
The strategy is now a separate business outside of the credit unit, allowing Bain Capital the flexibility to invest in equity, distressed assets, loan portfolios, corporate investments, and real estate.
This comes as global buyout deals have drastically declined this year due to the economic downturn.
