Bankman-Fried Pleads Innocent to Bribing a Chinese Official
Sam-Bankman-Fried, the former head of the now-collapsed crypto exchange Coinbase, has reportedly plead not guilty to the new criminal charges against him, which include conspiracy to violate campaign finance laws and bribery of the Chinese government.
Sources from the Wall Street Journal had previously predicted this course of action. In February 2023, the US authorities added more charges against Bankman-Fried, including collusive bank fraud. However, according to Reuters, he has no intention of making any deals with the investigation.
His trial is set to start in October, and he could face a sentence of more than one hundred years if found guilty on all counts.
