Coinbase CEO: SEC’s Policy is Disastrous for US Financial Sector
Brian Armstrong, CEO of crypto exchange Coinbase, has expressed his opinion that the SEC’s regulatory policy on digital assets could negatively affect the financial position of the United States, which he believes is “seriously lagging behind” countries such as the UK, Brazil and Singapore.
Following the SEC’s notice of investigation to Coinbase regarding its listing procedure and its products – Coinbase Prime, Coinbase Wallet and the staking service Coinbase Earn – on March 23, Armstrong declared that Coinbase would be “happy to go to court if it helps develop case law for the industry.”
Furthermore, he has urged US users to prioritize voting for politicians that support cryptocurrencies, stating:
“We are going to elect candidates who support digital assets to make sure our success is assured.”
