BitMEX Resumes Trading After a Temporary Crash
Cryptocurrency exchange BitMEX yesterday experienced a technical issue which led to a suspension of trading. The exchange’s website now states that the system is functioning properly again.
The team has reminded users that all funds are secure, though they did not specify the cause of the malfunction.
In December 2020, BitMEX implemented the Proof-of-Liability feature, allowing users to check the platform’s obligations towards them in the overall balance. They also launched a spot trading platform for cryptocurrencies and, due to a bear market, postponed a planned utility token listing in July.
Alexander Heptner, who stepped down as BitMEX’s head last year, filed a lawsuit against the exchange operator for $3.4 million over an alleged breach of his employment contract terms.
