Optimism Network’s On-chain Activity Drops After End of NFT Bonus Program
The daily transaction volume on the Optimism Tier 2 network has dropped to 238,000 from a recent 800,000, coinciding with the end of the Optimism Quest rewards program for the users of non-fungible tokens, according to The Block Research.
The surge in activity on the platform has reportedly also coincided with rumors of a second airdrop for the project. The Optimism team distributed in June last year the native OP token to 232,000 users and hinted at a future repeat of the event.
The company researchers have noted that more than 3.4 million NFTs have been created by users during Quest.
The network has previously surpassed its competitor Arbitrum in terms of daily activity.
