Elizabeth Warren: Cryptocurrencies Should be Regulated Like Securities

US senator Elizabeth Warren believes that digital currencies in the US should be regulated using securities laws.

According to her, the collapse of crypto exchange FTX has once again confirmed the need for maximum control over the industry. She has recently voiced her concern that if left unregulated, cryptocurrencies could destroy the American economy.

The senator spoke on Tuesday at a financial services conference hosted by Goldman Sachs.

She thinks that the application of securities laws will ensure the protection of retail investors and the transparency of operations on centralized exchanges.
