Filecoin Devs Launch Content Delivery Network Saturn

The creators of the decentralized storage platform Filecoin have recently launched the content delivery network Saturn.

The new product is focused on the segment of decentralized applications and has been designed to provide high performance, as well as reduce the requirements for the equipment of network participants.

Protocol Labs representatives have emphasized Saturn will complement the main data storage layer based on Filecoin.

To run a node, users will need at least 1 terabyte of disk space.

According to the project leader Ansgar Grunseid:

“The launch of Saturn, Filecoin’s content delivery network, achieves two of the project’s key goals: fast, open access to humanity’s most important information and the opportunity for everyone to participate in the ecosystem.”
