Web3 Foundation Teams Up with edX to Develop Web3 and Polkadot Educational Courses
The Web3 Foundation has joined forces with global online learning platform from 2U, Inc to launch Web3X, a series of foundational courses in blockchain technology and the Polkadot platform.
The series, which consists of four parts, begins by covering the fundamentals of blockchain tech and later focuses on the Polkadot network. Then, following courses deal with the Substrate software development kit and the Rust programming language.
edX has spent the last 10 years offering learners around the world access to education from the top universities and institutions globally at edX.org.
Bertrand Perez, CEO of Web3 Foundation, has said on the announcement:
“Education is one of the most important foundation pillars for Web3. It’s extremely important that we continue to provide key knowledge around the fundamentals of both Web3 technology and the Polkadot network to help guide the next generation of talented builders, developers and entrepreneurs in the blockchain sector. Part of this ongoing process is to launch partnerships with established educators and we are confident that edX has the right attributes to form a valuable long-term collaboration with Web3 Foundation.”
According to the announcement, the first course, called Introduction to Blockchain and Web3, has been specially designed to build foundational knowledge and promote the necessary skills to fully understand and experiment with developments in the blockchain and web3 worlds.
In particular, the course covers the history and key terminology of blockchains, Bitcoin, Ethereum and Web3.
The second course is called Introduction to Polkadot and provides a comprehensive overview of Polkadot, its technology and ecosystem.
