18% of Blocks in Updated Ethereum Are Created Using MEV

Developer Elias Simos, after analyzing the first 24.5 thousand blocks after The Merge, has come to the conclusion that 18% of the blocks on the Ethereum network were generated using MEV, providing additional staking rewards to validators.

Thanks to MEV-boost, validators using it were able to get 122% more profit. We should note that the blocks they generated contained 41.4% more transactions.

In addition, MEV-boost allowed to remove empty and skipped blocks. According to mevboost.org, the leader in MEV belongs to the Flashbots service with a 80.98% share.
