Japanese Government Releases NFTs to Reward its Officials
The Japanese government has just issued non-fungible tokens (NFTs) as a reward for local officials who excel in the use of digital technologies, local media reports.
In the first awards event, which was presented during the Summer Digi Denkoshien 2022, seven mayors received their own NFTs.
One of them is the head of the city of Sakata, whose administration has proposed the use of electric vehicles for deliveries. In addition, the Maebashi of Gunma Prefecture has also received the award for its idea of a platform that uses cameras on mobile devices to track changes in traffic conditions in real time.
It is important to bear in mind that the NFTs are issued on the Ethereum blockchain using POAP.
