Hacker Attacks Cross-chain Bridge Rainbow Bridge

Cross-chain bridge Rainbow Bridge has successfully repelled an attack by an unknown hacker on August 20, Alex Shevchenko, CEO of Aurora Labs, has said.

The attacker reportedly sent a fake NEAR block, which required a deposit of 5 ETH. According to Shevchenko, the unknown person expected that on Saturday morning it would be difficult for developers to respond to the attack.

The system automatically rejected the fabricated block 31 seconds after the transaction was sent. As a result, the hacker lost his deposit, the user funds remained safe.
