Yuga Labs Removes Unlimited Release of BAYC Collection NFTs
The Yuga Labs team has withdrawn the smart contract that allowed it to release an unlimited number of NFTs from the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) collection, a year after it first promised to do so.
The co-founder of the project under the nickname EmperorTomatoKetchup has said:
“Contract holder is now burned. We wanted this for a long time, but didn’t do it for security reasons. We feel comfortable doing this.”
As proof, he has disclosed a transaction that the developers removed the possibility of issuing.
The Blockworks media platform specialists have reminded the Yuga Labs team about the problem:
“It is reported that one private key can release an infinite number of Bored Ape.”
In the event that the owner’s wallet was hacked, this made it possible for attackers to flood the market with tokens, bringing down the price.
