Terra Community Rejects Hard Fork and Airdrop of a New Token
Most members of the Terra community have rejected the idea of hard forking the network. This follows from the data of the preliminary voting at the research and management discussion forum.
The proposal, which was published by Terraform Labs CEO Do Kwon, provides for the launch of a new blockchain and an airdrop token. The second version of the network would retain the Terra name and its coin, LUNA. The initial blockchain would become Terra Classic with Luna Classic (LUNC) respectively.
Kwon has stated that the team sees this as “a viable path to revive the Terra ecosystem.”
At the moment, 92% of the 5,649 survey participants have rejected the hard fork.
The official vote on the proposed proposal will take place on May 18.
