BlackRock Will Launch Digital Asset Trading Service
International investment company with $10 trillion in assets under management BlackRock has announced it will add the ability to trade cryptocurrencies, CoinDesk reports.
According to the company, the service will be integrated into the portfolio management system Aladdin. The firm also plans to add a digital asset-secured lending service. However, BlackRock has not unveiled when it plans to launch such services.
The company started in June 2021 searching for a head of blockchain strategy for the platform and DLT programmers. In the job description, it was said about “creating and implementing APIs, evaluating and auditing external and developing their own smart contracts.”
According to one of the sources, around 20 specialists have joined the team to date.
iShares, a member of BlackRock, filed in January an application with the SEC to launch an ETF based on the NYSE FactSet Global Blockchain Technologies Index.
